Daddy/​Daughter Dance

This tra­di­tion takes place in the spring of each year, typ­i­cal­ly in April. The dance is an event for dads with daugh­ters ages 10 and under. Because of the dance’s grow­ing pop­u­lar­i­ty, a reser­va­tion is required. Food, enter­tain­ment, and pho­to oppor­tu­ni­ties are offered each year dur­ing this inex­pen­sive fam­i­ly bond­ing expe­ri­ence and com­mu­ni­ty gath­er­ing. The dance usu­al­ly takes place in the Gar­den House of Mat­ter Park.

Earth Day

April is also the time for this annu­al envi­ron­men­tal­ly-cen­tered event. Parks & Recre­ation part­ners with Mar­i­on Util­i­ties and our Gen­er­al Motors plant to pro­vide an edu­ca­tion­al and fun-filled expe­ri­ence for the whole fam­i­ly. The event is free, but offers food and oth­er ser­vices avail­able for pur­chase. Earth Day usu­al­ly takes place in Mat­ter Park.

Fall Fest

Make mem­o­ries in Mat­ter Park by join­ing us for some heart­warm­ing autum­nal activ­i­ties includ­ing hayrides, cos­tume con­tests, pump­kin dec­o­rat­ing, and much more!
