
Home Repair Assistance Program
A new cycle of $100,000 in 2026 is available to help homeowners in Marion who need the financial assistance with eligible home repair projects.
*2026 Applications are open.
*Deadline to apply: March 1st, 2026
Applicants are encouraged to apply for up to $5,000 in financial assistance per homeowner/household while the funding is available.
Qualifications Criteria: (This program is for EXTERIOR repairs ONLY)
1. Total household Adjusted Gross Income not to exceed $40,000
2. Must be a City of Marion resident
3. Real estate must be located within the city of Marion
4. Applicants must be 65 to be eligible to apply
5. If applicant is under 65, he/she may qualify through social security disability determination or honorable discharged veteran status
6. Home must be the applicant’s primary residence
7. Must complete the Home Repair Assistance Program Application
8. Must complete a Residential Building Permit
9. · Homeowner must disclose name of contractor and building plans and apply for a building permit.
· Must provide written estimate from a registered contractor along with the application.
· Homeowner and contractors must agree to be reimbursed only upon Building Department signing off on work performed.
· Return application with all required documentation to the Building Department.
