Home Repair Assis­tance Program

A new cycle of $100,000 in 2026 is avail­able to help home­own­ers in Mar­i­on who need the finan­cial assis­tance with eli­gi­ble home repair projects.

*Dead­line to apply: March 1^st, 2026

Appli­cants are encour­aged to apply for up to $5,000 in finan­cial assis­tance per homeowner/​household while the fund­ing is available.

Qual­i­fi­ca­tions Cri­te­ria: (This pro­gram is for EXTE­RI­OR repairs ONLY)

1. Total house­hold Adjust­ed Gross Income not to exceed $40,000

2. Must be a City of Mar­i­on resident

3. Real estate must be locat­ed with­in the city of Marion

4. Appli­cants must be 65 to be eli­gi­ble to apply

5. If appli­cant is under 65, he/​she may qual­i­fy through social secu­ri­ty dis­abil­i­ty deter­mi­na­tion or hon­or­able dis­charged vet­er­an status

6. Home must be the appli­can­t’s pri­ma­ry residence

7. Must com­plete the Home Repair Assis­tance Pro­gram Application

8. Must com­plete a Res­i­den­tial Build­ing Permit

9. · Home­own­er must dis­close name of con­trac­tor and build­ing plans and apply for a build­ing permit.

· Must pro­vide writ­ten esti­mate from a reg­is­tered con­trac­tor along with the application.

· Home­own­er and con­trac­tors must agree to be reim­bursed only upon Build­ing Depart­ment sign­ing off on work performed.

· Return appli­ca­tion with all required doc­u­men­ta­tion to the Build­ing Department.
