How to Apply for a Hand­gun Permit

1. First, vis­it in​.gov/isp to elec­tron­i­cal­ly file a hand­gun per­mit appli­ca­tion with the state. 

2. Sched­ule an appoint­ment with the Grant Coun­ty Sher­if­f’s Dept to sub­mit fin­ger­prints elec­tron­i­cal­ly to the state.

3. Come to the Mar­i­on Police Depart­ment Mon­day through Fri­day from 8am — 3pm to pay the local fee and com­plete the appli­ca­tion process and crim­i­nal back­ground check.
