This is a reminder that the City of Marion’s 192nd Birthday Party and State of the City Address is Friday, May 24th, 2024, from 4 – 7pm downtown on the riverfront at 1st and Adams St.
Here’s what you need to know:
The Zach Day Band will be playing from 4 – 7pm, breaking for Mayor Ronald Morrell, Jr.‘s first State of the City Address from 5:30 – 6pm.
A video of the State of the City Address will be posted on the City of Marion homepage (cityofmarion.in.gov) following the event Friday night.
Hive Mind Market vendors will have craft booths and food trucks up and down Adams St. north of 2nd St. and north of McClure’s gas station.
Families are encouraged to come enjoy a bounce house, face painting, and lots of “Touch a Truck” features with the Marion Fire Dept., Marion Police Dept., Citywide Maintenance & more! There might even be some extra surprises for the kids.
Area roads and alleys will be closed from 2 – 8pm on Friday, 5/24/24 (see map).
Public parking on and around the site will be marked.
The City has gained sponsors since promoting the event with Needler’s donating fresh cookies and Dollar General donating cupcakes for the public to enjoy, first come first served. The City is incredibly grateful for these generous donations and will be handing them out at the City booth.
We hope to see a great turnout!
