Two Marion Men Honored with “Citizens Life Saving Award” by MFD for Heroic Actions Share

Two coura­geous young men were hon­ored at the Mar­i­on Com­mon Coun­cil meet­ing on July 7th, 2020, for life-sav­ing and self­less actions in pulling a man out of a burn­ing home in Mar­i­on on the after­noon of June 21st, 2020. The Mar­i­on Fire Depart­ment, led by Chief Paul David, pre­sent­ed Mr. Tre­vionte Smith and Mr. Mar­cus Har­vey with plaques com­mend­ing them for their brav­ery. The two men risked their lives for one of a com­plete stranger. The City of Mar­i­on is proud of these two local heroes.

A pre­sen­ta­tion giv­en by Mr. Smith of the actions tak­en by the men will be includ­ed in the min­utes of the meet­ing which will be post­ed on city​of​mar​i​on​.in​.gov/​commoncouncil. Ini­tial inter­views recount­ing the inci­dent were also pub­lished in the Chron­i­cle Tri­bune on June 25th2020.
