The Rundown for July 3rd Celebration: Band Schedule, Parking & More Share

Tues­day evening is approach­ing quick­ly, so we want to give you impor­tant details for the July 3rd Cel­e­bra­tion” in the Gar­dens of Mat­ter Park. 

Mar­i­on Tran­sit bus­es will be shut­tling from Five Points Mall to assist peo­ple with park­ing. Park in the for­mer Sears lot any time between 7 – 11pm to take advan­tage of this ser­vice for the event. There will also be a peo­ple-mover at the Mat­ter Park entrance from High­land Ave. and Riv­er Dr. (N. Mat­ter Park Rd.). You may park on the grass along N. Mat­ter Park Rd., but please do not park in the road. 

The Posse will kick off the musi­cal enter­tain­ment from 6 – 7pm. Jessie Brown will take the stage from 7:15 – 8:15pm. Then, head­lin­er Jon McLaugh­lin & his band will start at 8:30pm, and will play until 10pm soon fol­lowed by the City of Mar­i­on fire­work show which will last about 25 minutes.

Food ven­dors will be cook­ing ham­burg­ers & hot dogs for pur­chase, but you are also wel­come to bring your own food & drink. There will also be oth­er nov­el­ty food items like ket­tle corn & cot­ton can­dy for sale.

In the Gar­dens’ Mead­ow, there will be yard games includ­ing corn hole, chess, & High Strik­er. Inflat­able bounce sta­tions will also be in the Meadow.

We look for­ward to hav­ing the com­mu­ni­ty come togeth­er in the Gar­dens of Mat­ter Park for this one-of-a-kind spe­cial cel­e­bra­tion of our Nation’s independence!
