Tuesday evening is approaching quickly, so we want to give you important details for the “July 3rd Celebration” in the Gardens of Matter Park.
Marion Transit buses will be shuttling from Five Points Mall to assist people with parking. Park in the former Sears lot any time between 7 – 11pm to take advantage of this service for the event. There will also be a people-mover at the Matter Park entrance from Highland Ave. and River Dr. (N. Matter Park Rd.). You may park on the grass along N. Matter Park Rd., but please do not park in the road.
The Posse will kick off the musical entertainment from 6 – 7pm. Jessie Brown will take the stage from 7:15 – 8:15pm. Then, headliner Jon McLaughlin & his band will start at 8:30pm, and will play until 10pm soon followed by the City of Marion firework show which will last about 25 minutes.
Food vendors will be cooking hamburgers & hot dogs for purchase, but you are also welcome to bring your own food & drink. There will also be other novelty food items like kettle corn & cotton candy for sale.
In the Gardens’ Meadow, there will be yard games including corn hole, chess, & High Striker. Inflatable bounce stations will also be in the Meadow.
