Study to Remove Charles Mill Dam, Public Meeting, 10/29/20 Share

Reminder:

The Grant Coun­ty Soil and Water Con­ser­va­tion Dis­trict and City of Mar­i­on have part­nered with the Indi­ana Depart­ment of Nat­ur­al Resources, Lake and Riv­er Enhance­ment Pro­gram to con­duct a fea­si­bil­i­ty study to pos­si­bly remove the Charles Mill Dam in the Mis­sissinewa Riv­er near Mat­ter Park. Ecosys­tems Con­nec­tions Insti­tute, LLC in part­ner­ship with Christo­pher Burke Engi­neer­ing col­lect­ed a wide assort­ment of infor­ma­tion about the dam, the riv­er and pool above the dam over the course of this past summer.

A pub­lic meet­ing to share infor­ma­tion about the study is sched­uled for Thurs­day, Octo­ber 29th, 2020 at 6:30pm in Coun­cil Cham­bers of City Hall.

The head of City of Mar­i­on Engi­neer­ing, Mike Graft, will be inter­viewed along with a rep­re­sen­ta­tive from the study­ing firm tomor­row, Oct. 27th, 2020 at 7:35am (EST) on AM 1400 WBAT.
