Reminder: Do Not Park in Reserved (Numbered) Spaces Share

Aug 15, 2019  |  Web Administrator

With the renovation of the 5th Street Commons (5th & Washington St. parking lot) and the growing popularity of the area, more and more motorists are parking in unauthorized spaces. The City of Marion wants to remind motorists that parking spaces in all City lots with a number on the space are reserved for individuals who lease space with the City. There are large signs at each City parking lot offering leased spaces which inform motorists of the following information including how to lease a space with the City and who to contact if an unauthorized vehicle is towed:

Leasees have been voicing complaints to the Community Development Department’s parking lot manager, Janet Pearson. Pearson said complaints are incoming more often with the recent developments and she wants to take extra care to remind anyone who parks Downtown of the parking lot regulations. She wants to remind motorists to either park in unnumbered spots within the parking lots (first come, first served), or park in the 2‑hr spaces along the street.

The City wants to provide fair and reliable service to leasees while giving motorists ample places to park Downtown.

If you are interested in leasing one or more spaces from the City, please contact Janet Pearson at the information below.

Thank you.
