In reflection of the past few seasons at the City of Marion Splash House, one staff member at the park is being recognized for hard work, dedication, and proven leadership.
Patricia Parker was first hired in May of 2016 as an entry-level Support Crew Member. After proving a good work ethic and leadership skills, she was promoted to Support Crew Manager in May of 2018 — a role she still serves, having completed 3 seasons in management since the Splash House did not open in 2020.
Splash House Director Andy Davis explained that through Parker’s years of employment, she has been integral to Splash House functioning and excels in her job through motivating others and working well with her staff.
Davis emphasized, “She supervises a staff of 30 – 35 members — all teenagers — who work concessions, clean, and operate the front desk. Patricia is incredibly patient and understanding, and has done an excellent job in working with a smaller crew this year.”
Parker said that she grew to really enjoy her role at the Splash House. “I originally applied in order to be closer to my children who were working there at the time. I instantly fell in love with the park’s family-friendly atmosphere. I have since formed friendships with the staff as well as the guests, and get to enjoy the beautiful summer weather in addition to the friendly faces of our community.”
