Mayor Proclaims April Child Abuse & Neglect Prevention Month at Luncheon Share

May­or Jess Alum­baugh was hon­ored to pro­claim the month of April Child Abuse and Neglect Pre­ven­tion Month, and be a part of Pre­vent Child Abuse Grant Coun­ty’s revamped annu­al lun­cheon & work­shop on Wednes­day, April 12^th, 2023 at Ivy Tech Com­mu­ni­ty Col­lege in Marion.

This was the first luncheon/​workshop that the Grant Coun­ty Child Abuse Coun­cil has held since the pandemic.

At the cul­mi­na­tion of Child Abuse and Neglect Pre­ven­tion Month, the first annu­al ​“Super­hero Walk” will be held on April 30^th at 5:30pm in Mat­ter Park. Kids are encour­aged to dress as their favorite super­hero and walk with real local super­heroes! Capes and masks will be pro­vid­ed. The walk will be fol­lowed by the annu­al can­dle­light cel­e­bra­tion at 6:30pm.
