First-time Homebuyers across the nation should be looking at Marion, Indiana according to a report from LendEDU. Marion was ranked the “11th Best City in the U.S. for First-time Homebuyers” in a report released on May 3rd, 2017. The report highlighted Marion and the other top-rated cities and towns as offering the most reward for people buying a home for the first time.
LendEDU generated their rankings based off metrics including: (1) Median Household Income; (2) Median Household Value; (3) Mortgage Success Rate; (4) Property Tax Rate; (5) Crime Risk Index; (6) Weather Risk Index; (7) Cost of Living Index; and (8) Entertainment Cost Index. Marion received 83 out 100 points. The city ranked #1, Menominee, Michigan, received 87.56 out of 100.
