On Wednesday, March 11th, 2020, the Marion Municipal Airport received a grant from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the amount of $152,000 as a reimbursement for the cost of constructing their Snow Removal Equipment (or SRE) Building back in 2015. City of Marion Board of Aviation President, Jim McKinney, signed the paperwork Wednesday, making the grant official.

McKinney applied for the FAA grant and expressed gratitude today for receiving the reimbursement.

McKinney said the grant allows them to pay back a loan in less than 5 years — something he said the board has historically been able to do consistently when borrowing money.
