The Build­ing & Grounds Depart­ment is respon­si­ble for the upkeep of the facil­i­ty oper­a­tion and grounds of the Mar­i­on Munic­i­pal Building.

City Plan­ning Description

The City Plan­ning Depart­ment is respon­si­ble for orig­i­nat­ing per­mit­ting for devel­op­ment as well as sig­nage, vari­ances, zon­ing man­age­ment and more.

City­wide Maintenance Description

The City­wide Main­te­nance Depart­ment (Street Dept.) works tire­less­ly to per­pet­u­ate the community’s attrac­tive appear­ance while improv­ing safe­ty and sustainability.

Code Enforce­ment Description

The Code Enforce­ment Depart­ment exists to pro­vide prop­er enforce­ment of ordi­nances to pro­mote and main­tain a healthy, safe, and desir­able qual­i­ty of life for its citizens.

Con­troller Description

The Controller’s Office pro­vides finan­cial data to local offi­cials, the State Board of Accounts, and our con­stituents, while iden­ti­fy­ing ways to enhance oper­a­tions to achieve finan­cial stability.

Engi­neer­ing & Traffic Description

The Engi­neer­ing & Traf­fic Depart­ment pro­vides effi­cient and cost-effec­tive engi­neer­ing ser­vices to the cit­i­zens as well as oth­er divi­sions and depart­ments of the City.

Fire Description

The Mar­i­on Fire Depart­ment is a non-trans­port career fire depart­ment pro­vid­ing Basic Life Sup­port ser­vices to a 29 square-mile area while pro­vid­ing mutu­al aid to oth­er cities and counties.

Human Resources Description

The Human Resources Depart­ment is respon­si­ble for per­son­nel sourc­ing and hir­ing, appli­cant track­ing, skill devel­op­ment and track­ing, ben­e­fits admin­is­tra­tion and com­pli­ance with asso­ci­at­ed gov­ern­ment regulations.

Infor­ma­tion Technology Description

The IT Depart­ment is respon­si­ble for the trans­mis­sion and stor­age of infor­ma­tion, includ­ing the devel­op­ment, instal­la­tion, imple­men­ta­tion, and man­age­ment of com­put­er sys­tems for the depart­ments of our munic­i­pal buildings.
