Community Invited to Attend “National Day of Prayer” at City Hall

The Marion/Grant County community and beyond is invited to come to City Hall to celebrate “National Day of Prayer” next Thursday. The service will take place in front of the west entrance of City Hall on Thursday, May 4th at 12pm. In the case of inclement weather, the service will take place inside the lobby. A variety of church leaders will be participating again this year. The event is being organized by the mayor’s assistant, Nikki Owen, and she is hoping for a large crowd of community members coming together to pray.

Marion Airport Awarded $1.2 Million to Finalize Secondary Runway Improvements

MARION, IN: (Oct. 6th, 2016) – The Marion Municipal Airport has been awarded $1.2 million to finalize construction of a taxiway for their secondary runway.

Board of Public Works & Safety

The Board of Public Works and Safety (Board of Works) consist of five members appointed by the Mayor. The members of the board are:

Trent Dailey
Cindy Cunningham
Alex Huskey
Linda Wilk

The Responsibilities of The Board of Works include:

• Overseeing all bidding
• Contracts for departments covered by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) and the Teamsters Unions agreements
• Approve policies for various departments as well as the sale of surplus property

City's Personal Touch of Adding Receptionist Receiving Thumbs Up

MARION, IN: (March 3rd, 2016) – It has been one month since the City of Marion went “live” with a personal receptionist…and the response from the community has been all positive.

Newly hired Mayor’s office assistant, Nicole “Nikki” Owen, is settling nicely and naturally into her new role. Owen is experienced in customer service, having most recently served as an administrative assistant for Moorehead Communications (11 yrs), and a deputy auditor for Grant County Government (9 yrs).

“I love it. I love working with the public, and I love multi-tasking.”
