Road Closure: West 1st Street between Washington & Boots Closed Saturday

The Girl Scouts of Grant County is having a Recruitment/Hay Ride Saturday September 30, 2017 between 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm. W. 1st Street will be closed from S. Washington Street west to S. Boots St. then west to the alley next to Culligan’s, the N-S alley between W. 1st Street & W. Spencer Avenue will also be closed/restricted. Road Closure: S. Washington from 3rd to 4th St. Closed Friday Morning

Grant County Maintenance has announced that they will have the west lane of S. Washington Street from 3rd (S.R. 18 W) to 4th (S.R. 18 E) blocked/closed for approx. 2-4 hours starting at 8:00 am Friday September 29, 2017 so that their contractor may install 2 HVAC units at Marion Design Co. (old Salin Bank Bldg) on the S.W. corner of S. Washington & 3rd St.’s. For further information please contact Mr. Vince Beneke, Grant County Maintenance.

Trailer Manufacturer Plans Second Indiana Facility, 115 Jobs in Marion

MARION, Ind. (Sept. 20, 2017) – Stealth Trailers, a manufacturer of open and enclosed cargo trailers, announced plans today to establish a second location in Indiana, opening a new facility in Marion. As part of its growth, the company plans to create up to 115 new jobs by 2020.

Open Position: Part-Time Transcriber

The Marion Police Department has an opening for a part-time Transcriber. Job is 25 hours a week, 8am-1pm, Monday-Friday, $10.34/hr. Applications may be picked up at MPD, 301 S. Branson St. We are taking applications through September 15th, 2017.

A new domain for the website was activated this week, officially bringing the city website back up to the public. accesses the City’s current site indefinitely.

“We chose this domain because it is free through the State of Indiana, and many other communities are utilizing this service at no cost, yielding the official address and coinciding email addressing system,” explained Mike Flynn, Chief of Staff.
