Two big events are happening THIS WEEKEND in Marion!
Friday, Oct. 21st, 2022, is Oktoberfest in Downtown, Marion!
We’ve partnered with both Obi’s Barbecue (402 S. Washington St.) and Folkie’s Tavern (117 S. Branson St.) to bring you some fun German-inspired festivities with both locations featuring German food and drink specials and games with Champion Prize Baskets thanks to contributions from many businesses in and around downtown.
Obi’s will feature Jason Wells playing live music outside from 6 – 9pm, an Oktoberfest Selfie Station, and a Cornhole Tournament at 7pm outside for a Champion Prize Basket (please show up at 6:30 to sign up). Their German food special will be Smoked Bratwurst with Sauerkraut and Dusseldorf Mustard, featuring local Bad Dad Brewing Co.‘s Oktoberfest beer. The dining and outdoor areas are family-friendly.
Folkie’s Tavern will feature their traditional “Starter Party” from 4 – 6pm with the weekly drawing at 6pm, a Stein-Holding Competition from 5:30 – 7 for a Champion Prize Basket, and extra ‘giant’ games. Their German food special will be Bratwurst and Sauerkraut with Fried Potatoes, featuring Oktoberfest on tap. This is a 21+ location inside with a family-friendly patio.
This event is sponsored in large part by Peerless Printing and Office Supplies.
Champion Prize Baskets are valued at over $200 each!
