The past few months have been beyond challenging for all of us facing down the Coronavirus pandemic. This month, during our special series of Champion recognition, the City of Marion thanks all Maintenance & Housekeeping Staff throughout the community for their diligent work to keep facilities and offices clean and operational.

Mayor Jess Alumbaugh gives recognition to custodial workers especially inside healthcare facilities who work tirelessly to keep everything sanitary for frontline workers and patients.”

The director of a local health facility stated, Safety is our overriding priority.” The phrase has been instilled in all workers in addition to the dedicated custodial staff. We are doing everything in our power to keep everyone safe.”

A local senior living director stated the facility’s custodial crew was already top notch’ before the pandemic hit. These workers are the unsung heroes. They are the ones keeping us COVID-free. We appreciated them before, but with this unprecedented added pressure, their good that they do every day is being lifted and highlighted as an integral, vital part of our team.”
