Based in Greenville, AL, Ozark Materials is a pavement marking material manufacturer. Ozark Materials sells products nationwide. Its primary clientele includes state Departments of Transportation, civil and highway contractors, cities, counties, universities, and airports. Ozark products include waterborne traffic paint, thermoplastic pavement markings, and preformed thermoplastics.
The Marion Ozark Materials plant makes white and yellow paints, which are used for painting roads, rail crossing, airports, and parking lots. Currently, they have 14 employees and occupy the former Bell Packaging plant at 3112 S. Boots St., a 177,000 square-foot building in south Marion.
Ozark Materials is just getting ready to start production for the 2019 year. Paint production requires consistent 40-degree temperatures inside the building. Plant manager, Jim Battcher, explains that each batch of paint requires a specific chemistry. Paints differ from state to state due to climate conditions. For example, heat and humidity of Florida requires different paint composition than the frigid cold of Indiana winters.
Ozark Materials is dedicated to providing the highest quality pavement markings for the industry. The company strives for best in class customer service provided by their highly trained personnel with decades of experience. Marion is proud to be home to Ozark Materials and the important role they play in the pavement marking industry.
