MPD Civilian Support Staff Share

The Mar­i­on Police Depart­ment has a num­ber of invalu­able sup­port staff mem­bers who are not seen out in the com­mu­ni­ty every day. These indi­vid­u­als make up MPD’s Civil­ian Sup­port Staff.

Mar­i­on Police Chief Angela Haley prais­es them often, but want­ed to make them stand out in the Employ­ee Spot­light as one way to show them how great­ly they are appreciated.

Chief Haley said, Our Civil­ian Sup­port Staff works qui­et­ly behind the scenes to keep the Police Depart­ment oper­at­ing. We couldn’t pro­vide the ser­vices we do for the com­mu­ni­ty with­out them.”

Five employ­ees make up the MPD Civil­ian Sup­port Staff team (list­ed by tenure):

Phyl­lis Kauf­mann, hired Jan­u­ary 1997, is the IDACS (Indi­ana Data and Com­mu­ni­ca­tions Sys­tem) Coor­di­na­tor and Records Manager.

Car­ol McLain, hired Jan­u­ary 1997, is the Per­son­nel and Train­ing Coordinator.

Stacey Kon­azes­ki, hired May 2005, is the Admin­is­tra­tive Assis­tant to the Chief of Police.

Amy Reel, hired March 2020, is the Assis­tant IDACS Coor­di­na­tor and Records Manager.

Lel­la Sanch­es, hired Novem­ber 2020, is the Front Desk/​Traffic Clerk.
