The Marion Police Department has a number of invaluable support staff members who are not seen out in the community every day. These individuals make up MPD’s Civilian Support Staff.
Marion Police Chief Angela Haley praises them often, but wanted to make them stand out in the Employee Spotlight as one way to show them how greatly they are appreciated.
Chief Haley said, “Our Civilian Support Staff works quietly behind the scenes to keep the Police Department operating. We couldn’t provide the services we do for the community without them.”
Five employees make up the MPD Civilian Support Staff team (listed by tenure):
Phyllis Kaufmann, hired January 1997, is the IDACS (Indiana Data and Communications System) Coordinator and Records Manager.
Carol McLain, hired January 1997, is the Personnel and Training Coordinator.
Stacey Konazeski, hired May 2005, is the Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Police.
Amy Reel, hired March 2020, is the Assistant IDACS Coordinator and Records Manager.
Lella Sanches, hired November 2020, is the Front Desk/Traffic Clerk.
