Marion Fireworks Show to be Held on Tuesday, the 4th of July Share

The City of Mar­i­on will con­tin­ue a long­stand­ing tra­di­tion of pro­vid­ing a fire­works show for the com­mu­ni­ty. This year, the dis­play is going to take place on Tues­day, July 4th.

May­or Jess Alum­baugh explained, We want to bring the cel­e­bra­tion to the peo­ple direct­ly on the day the whole coun­try is cel­e­brat­ing its independence.”

The event enti­tled, Fam­i­ly 4th,” will take place in the com­mon area south of 1st Street and the Mis­sis­se­newa Riv­er, between Adams and Wash­ing­ton Streets. 99.3 WCJC and Star 106.9 FM will join the city from 7 – 9pm by host­ing a live remote broad­cast, and offer­ing fam­i­ly-friend­ly games and activ­i­ties. Food ven­dors will also be on site. Tra­di­tion­al patri­ot­ic music will be played pri­or to the start of the show at dusk, fol­lowed by a ground dis­play across the riv­er at the Grant Coun­ty Fam­i­ly YMCA, con­clud­ing with the tra­di­tion­al aer­i­al dis­play, shot from the East Mar­i­on area.

Every­one is encour­aged to bring a lawn chair and join in the cel­e­bra­tion and fes­tiv­i­ties downtown.
