Local Officials Promote Small Business Saturday Share

On the Sat­ur­day fol­low­ing Black Fri­day, Novem­ber 25^th, Grant Coun­ty will join thou­sands of oth­er coun­ties, cities, towns, and busi­ness­es around the nation to cel­e­brate Small Busi­ness Saturday.

Small Busi­ness Sat­ur­day is a nation-wide event ded­i­cat­ed to sup­port­ing local busi­ness­es; it was found­ed sev­en years ago by Amer­i­can Express in response to a press­ing need: local busi­ness­es need more cus­tomers. Novem­ber 25^th will mark the 8^th annu­al Small Busi­ness Saturday.

Small Busi­ness Sat­ur­day is an oppor­tu­ni­ty for Grant Coun­ty com­mu­ni­ty mem­bers to come togeth­er and col­lec­tive­ly cel­e­brate, pro­mote, and sup­port the local busi­ness­es that make our com­mu­ni­ty great.

All indi­vid­u­als and busi­ness­es are encour­aged to par­tic­i­pate in Small Busi­ness Sat­ur­day. Whether a small busi­ness own­er, a local pro­fes­sion­al, or an active com­mu­ni­ty mem­ber, there are a vari­ety of ways to get involved: Small busi­ness­es can open their busi­ness­es on Novem­ber 25^th and offer spe­cial deals; oth­er orga­ni­za­tions or busi­ness­es can pro­mote Small Busi­ness Sat­ur­day with avail­able phys­i­cal and dig­i­tal mar­ket­ing mate­ri­als; and com­mu­ni­ty mem­bers can shop local­ly at their favorite Grant Coun­ty busi­ness­es on Novem­ber 25^th.

Mar­ket­ing mate­ri­als are avail­able to all indi­vid­u­als and busi­ness­es inter­est­ed in par­tic­i­pat­ing in Small Busi­ness Sat­ur­day. These mate­ri­als include shop­ping bags, posters, flags, rugs, fly­ers, stick­ers, pins, pens and more. Con­tact the part­ners list­ed below if inter­est­ed in receiv­ing these mar­ket­ing materials.

The Grant Coun­ty Eco­nom­ic Growth Coun­cil and the Chron­i­cle Tri­bune will be spon­sor­ing Small Busi­ness Sat­ur­day, serv­ing as ​“Neigh­bor­hood Cham­pi­ons”; they will be pro­mot­ing the event along­side local orga­ni­za­tions Mar­i­on-Grant Coun­ty Cham­ber of Com­merce, Gas City Area Cham­ber of Com­merce, Upland Cham­ber of Com­merce, the City of Mar­i­on, the City of Gas City, the City of Jones­boro, Main Street Mar­i­on, Gas City Main Street, Main Street Fair­mount, Our Town Upland, and Mar­i­on Pub­lic Library.
