Make plans to be downtown for National Night Out on Tuesday, August 2nd, 2022. The annual event brings neighbors together with city officials and first responders to build community. This year’s celebratory and family-friendly event will take place at the 5th Street Commons (event space between Washington and Adams St.) downtown, between 5 – 8pm.
The fun night includes a dunk tank, local leaders including Mayor Jess Alumbaugh, Police Chief Angela Haley, and Fire Chief Paul David; Marion Police will have mascot Johnny Law, Therapy Dog-in-Training “Zion,” a K9 (police dog), and Crime Stoppers will be present. The Marion Fire Department will feature “Touch a Truck,” retired Arson Dog “Jersey,” and fire prevention education. Last but not least, neighborhood leaders will have booths set up to share about what they are doing in their neighborhoods while connecting with first responders, leaders, and community members.
Come out and have some fun while growing community!
