Thank you, James, for your ini­ti­a­tions, your hard work, and dis­play­ing an exam­ple of high character.

The Employ­ee Spot­light award is giv­en as a result of a rec­om­men­da­tion by the employ­ee’s direct super­vi­sor. The pur­pose of the Employ­ee Spot­light is to rec­og­nize the out­stand­ing work of City of Mar­i­on employ­ees as well as build morale by pro­vid­ing anoth­er source of recog­ni­tion for great work or a dis­play of great character.

“James has imple­ment­ed pro­grams to improve the effi­cien­cy of his depart­ment while reduc­ing its oper­at­ing expen­di­tures. He is a depart­ment head who leads by exam­ple. There is noth­ing that James asks of his employ­ees that he him­self has not done to ensure a task gets com­plet­ed. His return to City­wide Main­te­nance has proven invalu­able in ensur­ing that the cit­i­zens of Mar­i­on receive the ser­vice that they have come to expect.”
