How is a greenspace beneficial?
The National Recreation and Parks Association says, “more time spent in parks and green spaces can help individuals fight against mental health issues like depression, anxiety and stress. Making sure that all people have access to parks and outdoor programming is a critical way to increase these positive effects on health and quality of life for your community.”
The City of Marion and Radiant Health’s Hands of Hope recently collaborated to open the Harry Cramer Greenspace at 21st and Brownlee Streets as part of a shared goal to create more inclusive environments in the city that encourage positive interactions as well as community support. The greenspace officially opened on October 17th, 2024, and is now being enjoyed by many residents who live in or visit the area.
The greenspace is maintained by the City of Marion.
