City officials signed paperwork today donating two city buses to the Grant County Sheriff’s Dept.

The Transportation Department had planned to rotate out extra buses in their fleet after purchasing four new buses last year.

Grant County Sheriff’s Capt. Scott Haley said the buses will be very useful, being able to serve multiple purposes for evacuations, transporting inmates, trainings, and more.

The other two extra buses will stay with the City with one being donated to the Marion Police Department and one to the Marion Fire Department.

Transportation Director Jeff Edwards said it feels good to be able to help both the two City departments and the County in this way.
