Capt. Amber Richards has been serving the needs of citizens through the Marion Police Department since May 19th, 2003. She has been supervising officers on 2nd Shift since January of 2016.
Captain Richards is a member of the Honor Guard, leads the FTO (Field Training Officer) program, and also serves on the crash investigation team.
Captain Richards is well-known to organize or assist in planning MPD participation and engagement in community events and programs including the annual Walkway of Lights Christmas Parade, the Independence Day fireworks celebration, Walk of Hope, National Night Out, and more.
Richards also assists with the MPD hiring process and is very active with the Marion Police Youth Academy each year.
