Capt. Amber Richards Share

Capt. Amber Richards has been serv­ing the needs of cit­i­zens through the Mar­i­on Police Depart­ment since May 19th, 2003. She has been super­vis­ing offi­cers on 2nd Shift since Jan­u­ary of 2016.

Cap­tain Richards is a mem­ber of the Hon­or Guard, leads the FTO (Field Train­ing Offi­cer) pro­gram, and also serves on the crash inves­ti­ga­tion team.

Cap­tain Richards is well-known to orga­nize or assist in plan­ning MPD par­tic­i­pa­tion and engage­ment in com­mu­ni­ty events and pro­grams includ­ing the annu­al Walk­way of Lights Christ­mas Parade, the Inde­pen­dence Day fire­works cel­e­bra­tion, Walk of Hope, Nation­al Night Out, and more.

Richards also assists with the MPD hir­ing process and is very active with the Mar­i­on Police Youth Acad­e­my each year.
