Capt. Alex Kenworthy has been serving on the Marion Police Department since December 16th, 2001. Since being sworn in, he has been going above and beyond the expectations of serving as a police officer by being a vital connection to community members while displaying great character and enthusiasm.

One of many examples: Capt. Kenworthy recently volunteered as part of Marion Utilities’ Community Day at Matter Park. Their Communication Specialist, Sherry Loshnowsky, expressed delight for Kenworthy taking time to entertain and welcome families present for the event. We at Marion Utilities want to thank Marion PD’s Alex Kenworthy, who took time on his day off to come hang out with the kids at Community Day. Capt. Kenworthy was a huge hit, talking to the kids and adults present, and he did some great PR for the City and Police Department. Thank you so much!”

Marion Police Chief Angela Haley echoed thanks for Capt. Kenworthy’s commitment to the community. Alex is and always has been community-minded. He has a passion for working with kids. He is the epitome of what community policing is all about.”

Mayor Jess Alumbaugh shared Chief Haley’s sentiment. Capt. Kenworthy’s dedication to his profession and compassion for this community is truly inspiring. He has the ability to take any situation he encounters and turn it into a positive experience for those involved. His dedication to the youth in our community, both on and off the job, has made such an impact on so many who have needed the mentoring he provides.”
