Bow­man Con­struc­tion has been serv­ing Mar­i­on and the sur­round­ing Mid­west region for 125 years. Estab­lished in 1895, Bow­man is a com­mer­cial con­struc­tion firm focused on health­care, edu­ca­tion, indus­tri­al, mul­ti-fam­i­ly units, and office work. They employ between 20 – 50 peo­ple depend­ing on the season.

“Bow­man Con­struc­tion is known for doing qual­i­ty work. I use the com­par­i­son of – do you want a Porsche or a Kia? There is a dif­fer­ence. We are not the cheap­est in town nor do we want to be. Our clients and our con­trac­tors expect and per­form high qual­i­ty work,” said Scott Miller. Miller pur­chased Bow­man Con­struc­tion in 2018. ​“When I was in dis­cus­sion with the pre­vi­ous own­ers, I remem­ber they told me that if some­one want­ed a build­ing to last 100 years, you go with Bowman.”

While the COVID-19 sit­u­a­tion has been unprece­dent­ed across the nation, Miller shared his enthu­si­asm that Bow­man is in Mar­i­on. ​“This busi­ness has been here for 125 years. When things get tough, it is nice to be home in Mar­i­on. I look for­ward to the next 125 years of busi­ness in Grant County.”
