Life Saving Instruction

The Marion Fire Department is dedicated to the preservation of life and the well-being of our community.

We have dedicated firefighters who are American Heart Association C.P.R. instructors. They are trained to teach small or large groups.

Healthcare Provider/BLS (Basic Life Support) Course

This course is either for an individual working in the healthcare field or one who would like to become C.P.R. certified. It covers how to recognize the signs and symptoms of an individual who is in need of C.P.R. and what steps to take to help that individual. The course covers how to recognize the signs and symptoms of the individual who may need rescue breathing. In addition, the course covers the steps to take for the individual who has an obstruction airway. All of this covers what to do for the adult, child, and infant.
