The City of Marion would like to remind residents that notices regarding enforcement of the City’s tall grass ordinance were distributed earlier this spring. In addition to being published in the Chronicle-Tribune on April 18 and April 29, 2026, the notices were also shared through the City’s website, social media channels, mobile app, and with local news media to provide property owners ample time to make arrangements for maintaining their properties.

As outlined in those notices, the City may mow properties where grass exceeds nine inches in height without providing additional notice, and the associated costs may be assessed to the property owner.

The City is committed to maintaining a clean, attractive, and welcoming community for residents and visitors alike. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and continued efforts to help keep Marion looking its best.
