"Simon" at the Gardens of Matter Park Share

May 25, 2018  |  Layla Price-Bodkin

When the girls said this shelter dog’s got spunk, no word could describe Simon better. The 2-year-old Terrier Mix was found as a stray, brought in, neutered, and received all his shots.

Layla took Simon to the Gardens of Matter Park where they greeted Parks Staff and volunteers working on planting the 12,000 annuals to wow visitors for the upcoming season. (The Garden’s will soon have another Garden Education Series on Flowering Shrubs on June 14th, a Garden Tea with Aunt Sue on June 20th, and a very exciting Fourth of July event re-welcoming the City’s fireworks, plus live music with Jon McLaughlin & more, food and lots of festivities).

The venue’s water features were ideal on the hot and sunny day as Simon explored and sipped from various fountains. They explored the Meadow’s Butterfly Garden and one of the Garfield statues of the Grant County Garfield Trail, among other sites within the Gardens. He was friendly around the other dogs in the space, showing off his charming smile and energetic charisma.

Simon loves everybody and wants everyone to love him. He’s very lively and full of energy, and is the happiest dog you’ll ever meet,” said Shelter Manager Brittney Shrout.

Simon is adoptable at Marion Animal Care & Control. Call (765) 6684491 if you’d like to bring this lovable guy home.
