Representatives from the Pawnee Nation (Pawnee, Oklahoma) paid a surprise visit and presented the City of Marion with gifts this week while visiting Indiana. Using discarded metal materials given to them by Marion officials a few years ago, they had crafted intricate jewelry and accessories.
The shiny silver-colored belt buckle with turquoise is made of the aluminum from an old water meter. Zinc was added to the metal. The buckle features a unique design of a bear’s claw in the center.
The copper belt buckle and the two copper bracelets are made from old copper wire and tubing, with brass added to one bracelet design.
