Jeff Edwards was hired to work for the City of Mar­i­on on Jan­u­ary 2nd, 2017. As the Direc­tor of the Trans­porta­tion Depart­ment and the Mar­i­on Tran­sit Sys­tem, Jeff Edwards brings fun and excite­ment into his depart­ment and into the community.

Edwards took a kind­ness move­ment that orig­i­nat­ed in Plain­field, and brought it to Mar­i­on through a kind­ness event which was held on Sep­tem­ber 18th, 2018. On that day, all Trans­porta­tion employ­ees wore shirts hand­made by the group of chil­dren from Plain­field that say a sim­ple mes­sage, Just Be Kind.’ Through­out the day, employ­ees served cake & punch at the Down­town Bus Depot, and gave away Just Be Kind’ items to the community. 

He had also imple­ment­ed a Hawai­ian Day over the sum­mer which served as a way for both the depart­ment and the com­mu­ni­ty to have some fun.
