              <p>The City of Mar­i­on is excit­ed to con­tin­ue devel­op­ment with­in the River­front&nbsp;District.<br></p>
<p>Please be advised that the city-owned park­ing lots locat­ed between <span class="numbers">1</span><sup class="ordinal">st</sup> and <span class="numbers">2</span><sup class="ordinal">nd</sup> Streets, and Wash­ing­ton Street and Boots Street, will be per­ma­nent­ly closed start­ing at <span class="numbers">8</span>am this Wednes­day, July <span class="numbers">15</span><sup class="ordinal">th</sup>, <span class="numbers">2026</span>. <br><br>The City will begin installing orange fenc­ing on Tues­day, July <span class="numbers">14</span><sup class="ordinal">th</sup>, in advance of the clo­sure, to secure the prop­er­ty in prepa­ra­tion for removal of the asphalt park­ing lots to facil­i­tate a&nbsp;site-ready area for the new development.</p>
<p>The full let­ter being sent out to neigh­bor­ing areas is attached for&nbsp;reference.</p>

              <p>The City of Mar­i­on is seek­ing input from local home­own­ers about home repair needs through­out Mar­i­on neigh­bor­hoods. If you or some­one you know owns a&nbsp;home in Mar­i­on that needs home repairs — roof, <span class="caps">HVAC</span>, acces­si­bil­i­ty updates, or elec­tri­cal work — we want to hear from you. Take just five min­utes to fill out the Grant Coun­ty Crit­i­cal Repair Sur­vey: <a href="http://www.ahcgrantcounty.com/owner-occupied-rehab">www​.ahc​grant​coun​ty​.com/​o​w​n​e​r​-​o​c​c​u​p​i​e​d​-​rehab</a><br>
<br> This sur­vey is part of the City of Marion’s effort to secure $<span class="numbers">350</span>,<span class="numbers">000</span>&nbsp;in state fund­ing for home repairs through the Indi­ana Office of Com­mu­ni­ty and Rur­al Affairs (<span class="caps">OCRA</span>)’s <a href="http://www.in.gov/ocra/cdbg/owner-occupied-rehabilitation-program/">Own­er-Occu­pied Reha­bil­i­ta­tion (<span class="caps">OOR</span>)</a> pro­gram. The appli­ca­tion will be sub­mit­ted as part of Cycle <span class="numbers">3</span>, ahead of the Novem­ber <span class="numbers">1</span>, <span class="numbers">2026</span> dead­line. If award­ed, the funds will sup­port crit­i­cal home repairs of up to $<span class="numbers">25</span>,<span class="numbers">000</span> per house­hold for low- and mod­er­ate-income home­own­ers in&nbsp;Marion.<br>

              <p>The Mar­i­on Com­mon Coun­cil will soon have a&nbsp;vacan­cy for the Mar­i­on Util­i­ties Ser­vice Board. This appoint­ment is a&nbsp;four-year term begin­ning August <span class="numbers">1</span>, <span class="numbers">2026</span>, and end­ing on July <span class="numbers">31</span>, <span class="numbers">2030</span>. Resumes must accom­pa­ny an appli­ca­tion that can be picked up or emailed from the Mar­i­on City Clerk’s office or emailed to <a href="mailto:councilpresident@cityofmarion.in.gov">councilpresident@​cityofmarion.​in.​gov</a> no lat­er than July <span class="numbers">15</span>, <span class="numbers">2026</span>, at noon. Appli­cants must receive ser­vices from Mar­i­on Util­i­ties to be&nbsp;considered.</p>
<p>The Board pro­vides finan­cial stew­ard­ship by review­ing and approv­ing all expen­di­tures by the Util­i­ties, the month­ly finan­cial state­ments, annu­al bud­gets, and contracts/​projects. The Board also works to ensure the cur­rent and future Util­i­ties are main­tain­ing high stan­dards for not only the com­mu­ni­ty, but also to meet or exceed reg­u­la­to­ry require­ments. See Indi­ana Code <span class="numbers">8</span>−<span class="numbers">1</span>.<span class="numbers">5</span>−<span class="numbers">3</span>−<span class="numbers">4</span> for a&nbsp;full descrip­tion. The Board typ­i­cal­ly meets at <span class="numbers">5</span>:<span class="numbers">30</span>pm on the <span class="numbers">1</span><sup>st</sup> and <span class="numbers">3</span><sup>rd</sup> Thurs­days each&nbsp;month.&nbsp;</p>
