              <p>Due to park­ing lim­i­ta­tions in Mat­ter Park, the City of Mar­i­on offers free shut­tle ser­vice the entire evening of the Inde­pen­dence Day Cel­e­bra­tion. The shut­tle ser­vice will run from the mall behind Ros­es off of West Braewick Dri­ve, from <span class="numbers">5</span> – <span class="numbers">10</span>pm on Fri­day evening, July <span class="numbers">3</span><sup>rd</sup>.</p>
<p>*There is no hand­i­cap park­ing in Mat­ter Park. Hand­i­cap motorists must park at the mall and take the shut­tle for con­ve­nient drop-off in the&nbsp;park.</p>
<p>If you choose to park in the lot with­in the park, the only access into and out of the park is via Quar­ry Road off of State Road <span class="numbers">9</span>. There is <u>no vehi­cle access</u> from Mat­ter Park Road at High­land&nbsp;Avenue.</p>
<p>The gen­er­al park­ing lot with­in Mat­ter Park is locat­ed at the new Buck Fam­i­ly Sports Com­plex (old soft­ball field) off of Riv­er&nbsp;Road.</p>
<p>Motor­cy­cle park­ing will be locat­ed by Shel­ter <span class="numbers">5</span>&nbsp;on the north side of the park near the&nbsp;bandshell.</p>

              <p>City of Mar­i­on admin­is­tra­tive offices will be closed on Fri­day, July <span class="numbers">3</span><sup class="ordinal">rd</sup>, <span class="numbers">2026</span>&nbsp;in obser­vance of Inde­pen­dence Day. Mar­i­on Util­i­ties’ offices and recy­cling will be closed on&nbsp;Friday.</p>
<p>Although Mar­i­on Tran­sit will not be run­ning reg­u­lar routes on Fri­day the <span class="numbers">3</span><sup class="ordinal">rd</sup>, they will be shut­tling patrons to and from the Inde­pen­dence Day Cel­e­bra­tion from the mall build­ing behind Ros­es to Mat­ter Park from <span class="numbers">5</span> – <span class="numbers">10</span>pm. (see sep­a­rate announce­ment with more infor­ma­tion about cel­e­bra­tion event&nbsp;parking)</p>

              <p>The City of Mar­i­on would like to remind res­i­dents that notices regard­ing enforce­ment of the City’s tall grass ordi­nance were dis­trib­uted ear­li­er this spring. In addi­tion to being pub­lished in the <em>Chron­i­cle-Tri­bune</em> on April <span class="numbers">18</span> and April <span class="numbers">29</span>, <span class="numbers">2026</span>, the notices were also shared through the City’s web­site, social media chan­nels, mobile app, and with local news media to pro­vide prop­er­ty own­ers ample time to make arrange­ments for main­tain­ing their&nbsp;properties.</p>
<p>As out­lined in those notices, the City may mow prop­er­ties where grass exceeds nine inch­es in height with­out pro­vid­ing addi­tion­al notice, and the asso­ci­at­ed costs may be assessed to the prop­er­ty&nbsp;owner.</p>
<p>The City is com­mit­ted to main­tain­ing a&nbsp;clean, attrac­tive, and wel­com­ing com­mu­ni­ty for res­i­dents and vis­i­tors alike. We appre­ci­ate everyone’s coop­er­a­tion and con­tin­ued efforts to help keep Mar­i­on look­ing its&nbsp;best.</p>
