The active board and its array of volunteer committees work to promote and stimulate Marion’s downtown economy through a nationally formulated four-point approach system: design, organization, promotion, and economic vitality. Main Street Marion reminds us that downtown is our center of culture, history, and Marion’s true identity.
You’ll find that a lot of activity downtown is generated through Main Street Marion. From pop-up shops, galleries and cafes to live music, parties and contests, they put their passion for downtown in action all year round. Main Street Marion initiates clean-up efforts, beautification projects, and other programming aimed to build and sustain the downtown community. Most importantly, Main Street Marion pairs with the City of Marion and other team players to apply for grants mainly through Indiana’s Office of Community and Rural Affairs. These grant dollars keep the cog wheels turning to generate revitalization, new development, redevelopment, restoration, and beautification in the Downtown district which, in turn, yield a healthy economy & quality of life.
As part of their overall mission, they serve as a resource for current and prospective downtown businesses, and conduct projects to market available downtown buildings and spaces. They provide a tool on their website of the most up-to-date available spaces. This tool may be found here: https://mainstreetmarion.com/b….
