The City of Marion's Employee Spotlight for October is a team of Marion Fire Fighters: Captain Jordan Lamb, Fire Prevention Officer Chad Jenkins, Engineer Stephen Johnson II, and Firefighter Tharis Jones.

On 9/17/17, Capt. Lamb, Eng. Jenkins, Eng. Johnson, and Pvt. Jones of Engine 6 arrived on the scene of a shooting at W. Colonial Dr. and S. Home Ave.

Chad Jenkins has been in the fire service since 1999. He is a member of the Marion Fire Department, and a volunteer at Washington Township Fire Department.

Marion Firefighter Jeffrey Cook to Retire after 25 Years

This Thursday is the last day of duty for Firefighter Jeffrey Cook who will retire from the Marion Fire Department after serving 25 years.

Cook was born and raised in Marion and graduated from Marion High School. After 6 years working for Seyfert Potato Chips in Marion, he was hired as a Firefighter for the Marion Fire Department in 1992. Cook said being a firefighter was a longtime dream. He explained took him 10 years before he achieved a firefighter position.

Golf Scramble to Raise Funds to Rebuild Downtown Fire Station

The City of Marion is working hard to raise funds to rebuild the downtown Fire Station on 4th and Boots Street. Below is a signup sheet along with information on the Golf Scramble. Thank you for your support.

Employee Spotlight: Tino Mitchener

Tino Mitchener has been a Firefighter with the City of Marion Fire Department since November 4th, 2010. He is an Emergency Medical Technician, Scuba Diver, and a CPR Instructor through the American Heart Association.

Biscuits & Gravy Fundraiser for Fire Fighters:

Friends of Marion Professional Fire Fighters will hold the first event of the group since forming in 2016. Treat your family to breakfast with the Marion Professional Fire Fighters the Saturday before Father's Day, June 17, 2017. The firemen's favorite breakfast of biscuits and gravy will be served by Marion's fire fighters from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Marion Eagles, 933 South Washington Street.
